Are You Struggling in Your Connection With God?

A spiritual exercise to pause, listen, and notice our attachment with the Trinity.

Do you just need a few moments to sit with God and feel His love for you?

The audio blessing today is from my book, “Soar - Noticing God While Discerning the Unfathomable”. There is no right or wrong way to engage in this prayer exercise. If you can find a few moments of quiet space, allow your heart, body, and mind to rest before you begin. Pause the recording as much as you need to in order to allow more space for pause and reflection. Get a journal if you’d like to also write down anything that comes up in you that you may want to remember and continue praying through. Remember—there is only kindness and love for you here.

A Hesed Prayer With the Trinity

Begin your prayer practice with calming your body.

Taking five deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.

Close your eyes and just sit with your with your calmed body.

Notice how you’ve relaxed.

Then imagine in your mind a physical place that bring you joy and peace (i.e. the beach, the mountains, a tire wing outside etc.)

How do you come into this place?

Go through your senses and notice how your body feels.

Then notice the Trinity—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

There is no right or wrong way for them to meet you.

Ask the Trinity to open your senses to their love.

What do you want me to see?

What am I hearing from you?

What is “tasting God’s goodness” like?

How are you physically showing me your love?

What aromas are you inviting me to notice?

Hold their love—individually or together.

Notice where you’re being drawn to the Trinity or where you’re being pushed away.

Hold it all with grace and love for yourself.

Open your eyes gently and carry that kindness as you return to your day.

Substack always offers their writers the option to open up for paid subscriptions. I know many writers on this platform offer this to their subscribers, but for me, I hope to always keep what I offer here in this space free of charge. My husband and I already serve in support-based missions work in diaspora ministry, specifically in refugee care. If you ever wanted to support my writing—you could give a one-time or recurring donation to our ministry and that would be a huge blessing.
