Well, last week we said goodbye to the dearest home our family has ever owned. This is a home that has held generations of love and heartache and is a goodbye I will be processing about for a while (and will write more about at some point in the future). For now, I’m letting myself feel raw in the grief, but also hopeful for where the Lord is leading our family and taking us. This home bore witness to holy moments I never thought imaginable this side of heaven. Where is God surprising you with holy moments today?
We are all living everyday life with God.
The ordinary beams with Holy—that’s what makes our lives extraordinary.
Next week I’m beginning to share more about this new season for my family—stay tuned! For today, here’s a little look back at some of my offerings that I’ve shared for you, dear reader. Maybe you’re just reading them for the first time today, or maybe the Holy Spirit is inviting you to return to something you’ve already read.
May we remember how sacred our journeys are to the Trinity.
May we feel held in our grief, and elated in our joy—knowing both are welcome.
May we hold kindness for ourselves as we journey life one step at a time.
An Invitation to Prayer
I’m currently sitting in the throes of newborn life with multiple other kids—late night feedings, early morning rising, homeschool struggles, dinner to make, a full-time ministry to keep up with, a toddler who throws her food at anyone in close proximity, and not enough coffee to go around. Life is full and often overwhelming in this season. I don’t get…
The Pool of God’s Lovingkindness
This is a fictional piece I wrote last year while walking in loss and grief. This piece is based off of John 5 and the healing at the pool of Bethesda. It’s my own interpretation of putting myself in the Bible story and I hope it can resonate with you in some way—inviting you to notice the depth of scripture all the more.
When Grief Surprises You
Disclaimer: This post shares about grief and loss. I always appreciate when an author puts this at the beginning of a post so I can take a second to prepare emotionally before I read. If you feel this post is triggering in any way—you have all the permission to take a break or not read it altogether. This is my way of offering a hand as a friend in kind…
What Are Our Bells of Holy Interruption?
Before we get into this week’s post I wanted to share a couple updates!
In lieu of offering paid subscriptions, I ask that you consider supporting the work our family is doing. We serve in support-based missions work and have just launched an expansion of our ministry-The Welcome Movement-a collective movement where diaspora communities experience healing, refuge, and belonging. We have a big goal to raise $75,000 by the end of 2025 to launch this movement and would deeply appreciate any donation to help us reach that goal! Click below to give and it goes directly to our family/ministry.
I know this must have been especially difficult for you to leave. I’m excited though to see what God has in store for you in your obedience, sweet friend! 💕
